October, 1989 - The first two shots are of a construction project at a Baptist church near Str. Plopilor. The girl was a high school student gazing out her school window, and the fourth photo is myself next to a tram.

This photo was shot in front of the Cluj County Communist Party Headquarters, as identified in the red sign near the door (see enlargement).
Note the relaxed, friendly demeanor of the police officers guarding this building, and the almost casual interaction between them and the people.
The white sign in the middle of the photo, which is partially obscured by one of the participants, reads Fara Violenta - "without violence."
